Ylencia Ford, OTR, MOT, CWC
Ylencia (pronounced lynn-see-uh) is a health and wellness professional who has dedicated much of her life to helping others to live their best life.
Her 18 year long career as a licensed and registered occupational therapist has been focused on serving the geriatric population in a variety of health care settings. For the last 10 years, she has worked exclusively on meeting the needs of the elderly in their homes by addressing issues of safety, home modifications, fall prevention, and maximizing independence in daily tasks though a variety of strategies. Using tools to address the physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of her clients, she has been able to assist so many people to safely stay in their homes in their later years.
Ylencia has a depth of experience and training in chronic disease management, dementia care, post stroke rehabilitation, and aging in place. Her passion for wellness led her to study and receive certification as a Health and Wellness coach in 2014. So, in addition to her work as an occupational therapist, she also now offers wellness programs to assist clients of all ages in establishing healthy habits around food, sleep, stress management, and proper movement - all of which play a crucial role in aging well and living life to the fullest.
In her spare time, Ylencia enjoys traveling, crafting aromatherapy products, taking fitness classes, and cooking delicious meals for her friends and family. After living in the bustling city of Dallas, Texas for 16 years, she moved to central Texas 2 years ago to be closer to her aging parents. She is excited to share her passion for health and wellness for years to come with even more people through the various channels we have available today, including telehealth, digital resources, and community building online.
