Rachel Turk Tolub, MA, OTR/L
Rachel is an occupational therapist with over 20 years of experience in the field, and has been providing care through MyndYou since May 2018. She has worked with people of all ages in homes, schools, out-patient clinics and hospitals. She enjoys OT because she can use her creativity and problem-solving skills to help people reach a functional and balanced life leading to happiness and success.
Rachel grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia but went to New York City for schooling. She received a BA from Barnard College of Columbia University and a BA from the Jewish Theological Seminary before attending New York University to earn an MA in Occupational Therapy. She then worked in a myriad of settings gaining insight into the various ways that Occupational Therapy can improve the quality of people's lives. Rachel has particularly enjoyed performing home safety and work-site evaluations in order to promote injury prevention and safer living. She was profoundly impacted by working with the elderly in a nursing home prevention program and learned how important it is for people to age safely and securely in their own homes. Regardless of the setting, Rachel has focused her approach to therapy as one of collaboration, education and creativity in order to promote health and wellness.
Rachel began working with MyndYou in their early research stages. She believes that this technology will enable therapists to reach more people, especially those that have fewer resources and support available. She has seen firsthand what compassion, goal setting, and brain training can do to improve people's safety and quality of life.
Aside from helping people, Rachel enjoys music, theater, craft projects, reading, and growing her house plants. Her greatest joy is her family, particularly her husband, Benjamin, 3 adult children, Eliana, Sammy and Hadassah, and 2 dogs, Coco and Shakshuka.
